PWLB borrowing slumps in June

Councils borrowed just £74.7m from the Public Works Loan Board during June, according to official figures. The sum is the lowest monthly figure since £63m was borrowed in May last year, and is down from £466m last month.
The largest loan taken during the month was for £25m by Stoke-On-Trent City Council with a repayment period of 50 years.
