Metro mayors ‘could bid for housing borrowing freedoms’

The government could allow combined authorities to bid for the £1bn of extra housing revenue account borrowing headroom announced by government last year, some in the sector believe. According to Inside Housing, metro mayors could be able to negotiate the funding as part of regional housing deals. The government would not comment on the issue.

The adoption of artificial intelligence in local government could be just as much about maximising available resources – essentially doing more with less – as it is about making immediate financial savings or efficiencies.
