Edinburgh looks for new LGPS software

Edinburgh City Council is looking for a new software system to help administer the LGPS in Scotland.

The council revealed the scheme, which has 100 contributing employers and over 80,000 members, requires an integrated pension administration and payroll software system to provide benefit entitlement calculations and payments.

The details were set out in its invitation to firms that want to bid for the contract. Edinburgh is the LGPS administrator in Scotland for the Lothian area.

The local government financial crisis has not been caused by a lack of funding: that’s just a symptom of the inherent conflict of having independent local authorities within a highly centralised state, argues Conrad Hall.
