Council chiefs pessimistic on Brexit

Almost two thirds of council leaders and chief executives believe Brexit would have a negative or very negative impact on their local economy, according to a survey by the New Local Government Network. The poll found that only 12% believe leaving the European Union will have a positive or very positive impact. The North East was the most pessimistic region, with 100% of council chiefs expecting a very negative or negative outcome.

The adoption of artificial intelligence in local government could be just as much about maximising available resources – essentially doing more with less – as it is about making immediate financial savings or efficiencies.
