Local authority treasurers can compare their treasury strategies (TMSs) with other councils thanks to an updated tool from Room151.
The website for local authority finance officers has published 2017/18 treasury management strategies for all councils in England, Scotland and Wales, as well as a number from Northern Ireland.
The TMS Links page gives easy access to councils’ freshly-approved strategies for the forthcoming financial year.
All councils are required by law to produce a TMS covering proposed borrowing in addition to investment plans and limits before the start of each financial year.
This year has seen a new treasury adviser on the scene, with TradeRisks advising Derby City Council on its TMS. The firm has joined Arlingclose and Capita Asset Services in the local authority treasury advice space.
