Kelly Watson, head of local government relationships at CCLA Investment Management, has provided the foreword to the report.

The Treasury Investment & Current Affairs Survey 2023 was completed by 127 respondents this year, encompassing treasury managers, principal accountants, directors of resources and s151/deputy s151 officers. The report is sponsored by CCLA Investment Management.

Some of the headline results of the survey have already been revealed: responses showed that reputational damage is driving a fall in the local-to-local loans market, while there were split opinions on whether borrowing short during the low interest rate period was a “prudent” strategy.
