IN PICTURES: highlights from the LATIF and Finance Directors’ Summit 2023

The Local Authority Treasurers Investment Forum (LATIF) and Finance Directors’ Summit 2023 was held last week in London to great acclaim, as attendees benefitted from the insights of an excellent range of speakers.

A frank ministerial address from local government minister Lee Rowley set the tone for the day, in which he urged councils to be “efficient” with taxpayers’ money as this is “not the time for local government to start experimenting”.

An opening keynote from Dame Meg Hillier, chair of the Public Accounts Committee, was another highlight.

The fascinating results of Room151’s annual treasury and finance survey were also revealed.

But beyond these insights, a lot happens at an event like the LATIF and Finance Directors’ Summit, with plenty of networking opportunities, meetings and chance conversations.
