Savings ‘could offset Northants reorganisation costs’

Up to £27m could be saved by proposals to create a single unitary authority for Northamptonshire, according to a council report.

In April 2018, council leaders estimated that the reorganisation of local government in the county could cost £43m.

However, further work has identified benefits of up to £10-12m, plus a potential further £10-£15m of savings if transformation work is pursued.
