Webster appointed to lead Pension SuperFund

Luke Webster, chief investment officer at the Greater London Authority, has been appointed as new chief executive of the Pension SuperFund. Webster will perform both roles and replaces Alan Rubenstein, who announced he would be stepping down from the SuperFund role last week.

The Pension SuperFund, launched in March, accepts bulk transfers from existing defined benefits pension schemes and pools them together to create one, large occupational pension scheme.
Webster was formerly chief finance and risk officer at London Pension Fund Authority, playing a leading role in the £11bn consolidation of resources with the Lancashire County Council Pension Fund.

Volatile stock markets ahead of US president Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ speech could weigh on asset price estimates for the LGPS triennial valuation.
