Mike O’Donnell, chief executive of the London CIV pension pool, has announced that he will be standing down from his role in a year’s time.
O’Donnell, who will be 60 in December, has been in post for three years. The former finance director at Camden Council said that after March 2023 he would be taking on a small portfolio of clients and some other non-executive directorships.
“I have very deliberately given the board 12 months’ notice to allow time for a well planned and smooth transition. The reasons for my departure are entirely personal, reflecting my own wish to move on to new challenges.”
London CIV is one of the eight LGPS asset pooling companies and has the London boroughs and the City of London as its client funds. It has total assets under management of £11bn.
Mike Craston, chairman of London CIV, said: ‘Clearly, we are very sorry to be losing Mike O’Donnell as our CEO, but at the same time really pleased he has offered to remain with us for a further 12 months.”
