The inaugural forum will be held at the London Stock Exchange on November 7th, and provides a cost-conscious alternative for public and private sector delegates to discuss the building blocks of LGPS investment.
Peter Findlay, publisher of Room151, said: ” At a time when valuations are prompting strategic reviews and administering authorities are looking at different ways to future proof their portfolios and work effectively with their pools, it is vital to get asset allocation right.”

A CIOs question and answer session will feature Jason Fletcher, CIO at the LGPS Central pool, Mark Mansley, CIO at Brunel Pension Partnership, Mark Thompson, incoming CIO at London CIV and Richard J. Tomlinson, deputy chief investment officer, at Local Pensions Partnership.
During the morning, Border to Coast’s chief executive Rachel Elwell will join a panel of speakers to explore the impact of valuations on LGPS investment strategies as well as options for de-risking or sticking with growth assets.

Other sessions will examine climate change, ESG, the changing role of advisers within the scheme, as well as MHCLG proposals to invest up to 5% of assets in so-called local investments.
The conference will be preceded by a breakfast and roundtable for women in the LGPS on the impact of climate change on institutional investing, sponsored for the second year running by Columbia Threadneedle.
Attendance is free of charge to LGPS and pool investment officers as well as section 151 officers of administering authorities.
