Suffolk refinances PFI waste incinerator contract

Suffolk County Council is to repay the £10m remainder of a PFI waste incinerator contract with a loan from the Public Works Loan Board.

The county signed the contract with French utility firm Suez in 2010 for the deisgn, build, financing and operation of the facility in Great Blakenham.

According to a cabinet report the move will allow the council to pay of part of the capital cost more economically.
