SNP strikes deal on Scottish budget proposals

The minority Scottish National Party government has struck a deal with the Greens to pass next year’s budget.

Other opposition parties have opposed the proposals because they say they would lead to a £319m cut to council budgets.

However, the government disputes this figure, saying it will provide an additional £90m for local government plus increased flexibility on income from council tax.
