Redmond confirmed as keynote speaker for LATIF/FDs’ Summit

Sir Tony Redmond, chair of the Improvement and Assurance Board at Nottingham City Council, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for Room151’s combined Local Authority Treasurers Investment Forum (LATIF) and FDs’ Summit.

The event, which will take place in London on 13 September, is regarded as the must-attend annual gathering for local government treasury managers, section 151 officers, finance directors and their teams. More than 200 delegates are expected, making this year’s LATIF/FDs’ Summit on course to be the biggest yet.

Redmond, who carried out an independent review for the government on local authority financial reporting and external audit, will discuss reflections on his review two years on, plus general thoughts on financial resilience and governance across the sector.

Other new speakers confirmed this week include: Justine Greening, chair of the Purpose Coalition and former secretary of state at the Education, Transport and International Development departments; Neil Harris, the first director of local audit at the Financial Reporting Council; and John Stevenson, MP for Carlisle.
