Lambeth chief exec to join public sector consultancy

Andrew Travers, the chief executive of Lambeth Council, is to leave his post and join public sector consultancy Inner Circle as a director.

Travers will lead a new ‘agile investments’ team at Inner Circle, with the goal of helping councils that are facing a challenging funding environment to achieve a sustainable outcome.

He has been at the south London borough for five years and was previously the chief executive of Barnet Council.

“Agile investments is about helping councils and places devise and deliver strategies for financial sustainability, using local assets and potential,” he said.

Travers will take up the position in September.
