Slough Borough Council has bought a cinema for £8m in a bid to increase revenue.
The council bought the Odeon in Basingstoke Leisure Park in the first quarter of this year using money from its capital fund as part of its property investment strategy.
Slough said it would reinvest the revenue from the rent and lease to cover adult social care and street cleaning costs.
A council spokeswoman said: “We have been running this programme for a few years now and it is a great contributor to our ability to manage our services budget.”
