A joint venture between Slough Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Investments has appointed developer Muse Developments for a new £650m regeneration scheme.
Slough Urban Renewal appointed Muse to deliver a mixed use scheme on former Thames Valley University land.
The scheme – which will complete the town centre regeneration undertaken by the 50/50 JV, is set to provide 1,400 homes across a range of tenures, more than 23,000m2 of commercial space, 4,200m2 of ancillary leisure and retail, alongside 14,000m2 cultural facilities and public realm.
Josie Wragg, chief executive of Slough Borough Council, said: “The investment from the council will trigger the largest single local authority regeneration project seen outside of London.”
