Karen Sly has been appointed as the director of finance and section 151 officer for Norwich City Council.
Sly was appointed to the position at a meeting of the council last week on 27 October. She succeeds Neville Murton, who has acted as the interim section 151 officer, head of finance for Norwich since February.
Since April, Sly has been the executive director of resources and section 151 officer at Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

At the meeting of the council, Paul Kendrick, cabinet member for resources at Norwich, stated that Sly is a “first class officer” and that he had “absolute confidence” that she will be able to successfully undertake the role of director of finance and s151 officer.
