More than 100 expected at LATIF North 2023

More than 100 delegates are expected to come to Room151’s fifth Local Authority Treasurers Investment Forum North, which is set amid soaring inflation and uncertainty of future council funding.

There are just three weeks left to register and join your colleagues on 21st March in Leeds for this must-attend, sense-check of treasury investment and strategic finance trends.

Against a backdrop of falling investment levels, increased scrutiny, and soaring inflation, LATIF North is a great opportunity for council treasurers aiming to deliver robust treasury management strategies to discuss the issues facing the sector.

The event is free-to-attend for local government finance officers and a great way to meet council professionals face-to-face, hear from a range of expert speakers as well as find useful strategies to implement back in the workplace.

Speaker line-up

Confirmed speakers include: Tim Seagrave, group finance lead, capital and treasury management, Manchester City Council; Charlotte Ryland, co-head investments, CCLA; Tracy Bingham, strategic director and CFO, Oadby and Wigston Borough Council; and Bevis Ingram, senior advisor finance, Local Government Association.

Sessions will cover what the current economic outlook means for local authority investment and treasury strategies, how to balance the budget amid large financial uncertainty, how councils are implementing environmental, social and governance into their investment plans, plus the borrowing challenges local government faces.

Exhibition and networking

Alongside the conference is an extensive exhibition of leading suppliers to the sector, making this a one-stop shop for local government treasury and investment needs.

Delegates are also invited to the LATIF North drinks and dinner at the Chaophraya Thai Restaurant once sessions have come to a close.

The gathering of local government finance experts will be held on 21 March at the Hilton Leeds City Hotel. To find out more about this year’s LATIF North conference click here. Finance officers from UK local authorities can register for a free place here.
