Haringey reveals major budget underspend

Haringey Council underspent by £108m on its capital budget underspend last year.

A report to councillors revealed the final outturn was £121.884m compared to an agreed budget of £229.924m.

“The majority of this (£107.9m) is slippage and has been requested to roll forward to future years of the capital programme.”

The report said underspending had been caused issues including delays to a major regeneration scheme at Tottenham Hale, under budget developer contributions and a revised funding arrangement for the strategic acquisition budget.
