The government has announced an extra £5m of funding for local authorities with air, land and sea ports to prepare for Brexit.
A further £4m will be given to “local resilience forums” made up of representatives of local public services to support preparations.
The funding can be used to develop plans and employ extra staff, the government said.
Local authorities in Kent will receive over £2.6 million in recognition of the county being home to a number of the significant and busiest ports in the area including the Port of Dover, Eurotunnel, Ashford and Ebbsfleet.
The local councils to receive extra funding are:
