Babergh ends uncertainty for new homes

A Suffolk council has ended a decade of uncertainty by agreeing plans for Persimmon Homes to build 172 new houses.

Babergh District Council has agreed to the development in Hadleigh, subject to financial contributions being agreed for the community.

Persimmon also plans to develop a 10,000sq ft plot for food and drink outlets and offices.

Until recently, the FRC had little involvement in local government affairs. But with investigations into council officers becoming more frequent, where is the political accountability?
